Brighton Food Co-op — *what I learned eating through a neighborhood food co-op for a year*.
I started shopping primarily at our local food co-op a year ago because I was tired of grocery store food and curious whether co-op shopping would actually deliver the things its marketing promised. I committed to a year. I tracked what I bought, what I cooked, what changed in how I ate.
This site is the field notes from that experiment. What actually changed. What didn't. The producers I now know personally. The specific foods that have changed what I cook. The financial reality of co-op shopping versus supermarket shopping. The community I accidentally joined.

☀ Watching notes. Sunrises and tides are observed in the field, not pulled from a model. Times are recorded to the minute and never rounded for tidiness.
